Not surprisingly, over 60% if the Iraqi citizens turned out to vote in the first free election since Saddam took power and killed 1,300,000 Iraqi people. No wonder the people turned out to vote despite the threats of beheading, homicide bombers, snipers, rockets, and having their children threatened with unimaginable deaths.
I wonder what the voter turnout would have been in the United States if we were in a similar situation today with having to dodge bullets and being blown up in a bus by some terrorist? Some people in the U.S. need to be reminded of what freedom means; particularly the ones that complain of not being able to figure out a butterfly ballot (designed by a Democrat, by the way), or not being able to vote because they would have to wait more than an hour or two or even have to find the proper polling place.
